Guy Benjamin Brookshire

The Universe War



Guy Benjamin Brookshire was born in Arkansas in 1977, got covered in fire ants in 1980 and has since traveled widely. He studied poetry at The Writing Seminars at Johns Hopkins. He is the father of two girls and writes and collages in Vallejo, California. He has completed his first novel: VACATION.

These illustrations are based on a story about Ben shitting himself after eating too much Chinese food.

Ben Mirov is the author of Hider Roser (Octopus Books, 2012), and Ghost Machine (Caketrain, 2010) which was selected for publication by Michael Burkard, and chosen as one of the best books of poetry in 2010 for Believer Magazine's Reader Survey. He is also the author of the chapbooks My Hologram Chamber is Surrounded by Miles of Snow (YESYES, 2011), Vortexts (SUPERMACHINE, 2011), I is to Vorticism (New Michigan Press, 2010), and Collected Ghost (H_NGM_N, 2010). He has written content for BOMB, The Brooklyn Rail, Jacket 2, The Best American Poetry Blog, The Faster Times, and Coldfront. He is one of the founding editor's of PEN America's poetry series. He grew up in Northern California and lives in Oakland.

Victor Cayro is an artist, and just a regular jo-blo americano, and Outlaw God. When he's feeling really cultured, he chugs Bud Light Chelada. Also, he is the most powerful Outlaw God enveloped in a human being chasis known to man. Kanyea and Jay Zee wear his golden profile and assorted iconic images on dozens of personal chains.He was born to cum, and one day he will wash all the scum off the streets.

Chelsea Martin

Chelsea Martin is the author of Everything Was Fine Until Whatever (Future Tense, 2009) and The Really Funny Thing About Apathy (Sunnyoutside, 2010). In 2012 she started the comic Heavy-Handed, which is published bi-weekly on The Rumpus. She has a BFA in writing and illustration from California College of the Arts and lives in Oakland, California. Her book Even Though I Don't Miss You will be out from Hobart in November, 2013.

Jennifer H. Fortin

We Lack in Equipment & Control (H_NGM_N Books, 2013) is Jennifer H. Fortin’s second book. Lowbrow Press published her first, Mined Muzzle Velocity, in 2011. Fortin is also the author of four chapbooks, from Dancing Girl Press, the Dusie Kollektiv, Poor Claudia, and Greying Ghost Press.

With three other poets, she founded and edits LEVELER. Fortin is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (Bulgaria 2004-2006). She now works in Public Relations/Communications at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
